Louisiana Sheriffs' Association endorses Bobby Jindal for governor

Posted by on Thu, Apr 21, 2011 at 2:19 PM

Gov. Bobby Jindal may not even have a clear opponent in this fall's race for governor, but one group has already thrown its support behind him: the Louisiana Sheriff's Association (LSA), who endorsed him by acclamation at a meeting yesterday, according to an email from LSA president and Plaquemines Parish Sheriff Jiff Hingle. Wrote Hingle:

Governor Jindal has proven himself to be tough on crime and we especially appreciate his strong commitment to taking on child pornographers and online predators. We feel another four years with Bobby Jindal as governor will continue to improve Louisiana’s image across the nation and demonstrate that our state is pursuing honesty and integrity in government.

The LSA also endorsed Jindal in his 2007 gubernatorial bid.
