The 2011 Big Easy Music Awards ceremony was held tonight at Harrah's New Orleans, with performances by many of the nominated artists. The event was sponsored by Gambit, WWOZ-FM, Abita Brewing Co., Harrah's New Orleans and Coleman E. Adler and Sons. The honorees were:

I'd like to see some of the local players that really go the xtra mile and keep Boubon Street Poppin weekly. That seems to be the center of our Tourism, so let's not leave those guy's out! Soulman, B.Street Benny and Jason Neville...I go and see these guy's weekly and they are some of New Orleans Best kept secrets...They deseve some props, not many bands can do what they do for 7hrs a day on stage 4 nights a week, weekly! Those bad boy's and gal's keep the clubs packed! Nonstop traffic! That's some real dedicated musicians with a large fan base! I'm one of the hundreds of loyal fans!!!
