Drew Brees leads Saints in workout, reminds us all that football may not happen

Posted By on Tue, May 3, 2011 at 4:57 PM

The Saints conducted volunteer player workouts on Tulane's campus today, led by - who else - Drew Brees. While it's gotten a lot of press and even merited a shout out on ESPN, we can't help but feel depressed about seeing Brees and Co. working out together, not wearing the Saints logo.

Basically, it's a lot of the same feelings we had when the NFL released its schedule. Yes, it's good to see the Saints players unified and working out together despite being locked out, but it just brings more attention to the fact that they're locked out.

Mostly, though, we're afraid that this may be the closest thing we'll see to football for a long time. We hope that's not the case.
