Friday, May 6
Canada's Grammy-winning indie rock outfit Arcade Fire hits the Acura Stage at 5:35. Stream and download a slew of the band's tracks from its career here, and grab a couple tracks from the Grammy-winning The Suburbs here, and check out what the band was like live before its recently higher profile, here.
Quintron hosts two record release parties for Sucre du Sauvage tonight: a listening party and signing at 6 p.m. at the New Orleans Museum of Art, followed by a show at 8:30 p.m. at the Studio 3 Warehouse (3601 Toulouse St.) Grab some Quintron tracks here.
New Orleans dark wave-y synth trio Kindest Lines released its Destructive Paths to Live Happily 7" — listen to the title track here, and check out "Running into Next Year" here, from the band's upcoming June full-length on Wierd Records. The band performs at Republic at 8 p.m.
Also tonight: 10 p.m. at Siberia, a massive bounce lineup with Big Freedia, Katey Red, Sissy Nobby, Ms. Tee and half a dozen others. Listen to Freedia's new EP here. And 8 p.m. at One Eyed Jacks, soul bearer Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears. The show is sold out but you can download the track "Booty City" for free.
Explosive guitar-pop duo Caddywhompus hosts its EP release (8:30 p.m., also at Studio 3) for The Weight, featuring the single "Age of Wild Spirits," which you can download for free here. West Bank MC Ballzack also performs at the show. (Stream "Rainbow in Marrero" here.)
