* (as per Chief Cherice Harrison-Nelson) After a long and courageous battle with several health issues Black Feather Big Chief Lionel Delpit became an ancestor at about 11:00 pm last night. Lionel started masking as a member of the Yellow Pocahontas group before establishing the Black Feather. He was known for his elaborate suits, spirited dancing and soulful singing. He appeared in the Treme series in the scene with other Big Chiefs singing Indian Red at the home of the Wild Man who perished in Katrina. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be sent out as soon as they are finalized.
