Despite releasing a real album just a few weeks ago, Curren$y dropped another mixtape, this time taking a more jet set approach versus his jet life mantra with the espresso-sipping, "la dolce vita"-riffing Verde Terrace. Download it here. Not sure where the line is between "too much" and "not enough" as far as his rate of album and mixtape releases — the hyper-prolific Curren$y already has released two albums, two mixtapes and plans to release Pilot Talk III later this year. He may be teetering on the brink — that is, if he crafts any duds, which he has yet to do.

New Orleans rapper Choppa — best known for the bounce hit "Choppa Style" from Straight from the N.O. — performs at Siberia at 10 p.m. tonight with Gotty Boi Chris, Lucky Lou and others. If you missed NOLA Bounce's bounce remixes, grab it here.

Big Chief Monk Boudreaux celebrates the release of Won't Bow Down at Blue Nile, 10 p.m. Saturday, with Mia Borders. Check out the album track "Foot Steps" here (to find out what's going down in Monk's kitchen).

New Orleans pop outfit Vox & the Hound — fronted by multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter Leo DeJesus — returns from its summer slumber and hits Carrollton Station at 9 p.m. Saturday. Stream the 2011 EP Hermosa here.

Athens, Ga., via Ruston, La.: psych-pop outfit and Elephant 6 collective founder The Olivia Tremor Control is at One Eyed Jacks, 10 p.m. Monday. Grab some free songs from the band's website here. Check out Gambit's show preview here.

Just announced at House of Blues this fall, Tinariwen are this week's must-listen artist on NPR's First Listen. Stream the gorgeous album Tassili here.

After the jump, Lil Wayne's latest video, for "How To Love." If you haven't heard the already-leaked Tha Carter IV, expect an official digital release this weekend. (Hint: Wayne's at the MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday.)
