There are so many products dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer that you could sport one every day during October, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Macy’s is offering designer T-shirts, a special pink-ribbon Lolita martini glass ($24.99) and more, with a portion of sales benefiting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), which provides funding for researching treatments and cures for breast cancer.
The best part is these aren’t typical T-shirts. INC International Concepts has three T-shirt styles: the Scroll & Ribbon hoodie; long-sleeve Strength, Courage & Will T-shirt or Sublimation butterfly T-shirts at Macy’s for $49.50 each, with 5 percent going to BCRF. Ellen Tracy also teamed up with Macy’s, designing a Love Yourself T-shirt that retails for $29.50, with 10 percent going to BCRF.
Other Hot Pink items — each sale means a donation to BCRF — include Aerosoles pink pony hair loafers; Clinique's Great Cause Breast Cancer Awareness lip set; Coach’s Phoebe bangle; Estee Lauder’s Evelyn Lauder Lip Collection; Con Air Power of Pink flat iron and more.

Another BCRF fundraiser — Breast Fest — is scheduled from 7 p.m. to midnight Oct. 22 at Hard Rock Cafe (418 N. Peters St.), with a patron party from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Algiers (patrons will take the ferry and second-line to the Hard Rock Cafe. The event includes food, music, a silent auction and more. Tickets are $125 a person for the patron party and BreastFest, and $75 a person or $125 a couple for BreastFest.
The BCRF is dedicated to funding innovative research of treatments and cures and bringing them to the marketplace. This month BCRF — which says 90 cents of every $1 donated goes to breast cancer research and awareness programs — will award $36.5 million to 186 researchers around the world in the coming year.
