Jessica Simpson to appear at Dillard's

Jessica Simpson, someone who used to be a singer but now mostly exists as a professional girlfriend and designer of mid-priced shoes and clothing, will appear at the Lakeside Mall Dillard's (3301 Veterans Memorial Blvd., 833-1075) tomorrow, Oct. 8, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to promote her new clothing line.

I have to say that Simpson's designs, while not highly innovative (par for the course for celebrity fashion lines), do tend to be decently attractive and very affordable. I quite enjoy her terrifyingly high line of on-trend (read: designer knock-off) footwear. I was not, however, a fan of an earlier product venture, which was a range of fragrances and other body products that smell like cake.

The appearance will be on the department store's second floor. The Jessica Simpson Collection Facebook page says you'll get a free gift with a purchase, and I'm assuming Simpson will also be around to sign things/take awkward pictures with fans.

I like her line of hairpieces. What would I do on bad hair days without my fake bangs???
