Not to sound hyperbolic but EVVVVVVERYBODY in the brass band and second line club scene is talking about Trumpeter Eric Gordon's new band The Lazy Boys. Gordon, who recently left the Stooges Brass Band to join To Be Continued Brass Band, has also headlined his own band for over a year now. The Lazy Boys have a regular gig Wednesday 7-9pm show at Vaso (formerly the Hookah Bar) on Frenchmen Street. I strongly encourage you to check them out as I will be doing tonight. I saw them when they were just starting out and I was floored at their ability to take Brittney Spears' song 'Toxic' and turn it into some second line parade-worthy fire. All this talk of packed houses and hype shows has me more than curious to see what a year's time has wrought.

And you know Big Red will be filming and reporting back...

Eric Gordon's Lazy Boys Wednesday 7-9pm at Vaso (formerly the Hookah Bar) on 1407 Decatur Street, c/o Frenchmen. Admission is free.
