The art of the po-boy

The Oak Street Po-Boy Festival is just 10 days away (Ian McNulty should have more on the event soon), but here's what you need to know now about the city's most overstuffed food fest, coming your way Sun. Nov. 20:
Named "the best food festival of 2010" by Gambit Weekly, this year's Fest will feature three stages with live music, arts and crafts, a children's section with games and prizes, panel discussions covering the history of the po-boy, and, of course, the best tasting po-boys in New Orleans. Join us 10:00 am - 7:00 pm. New for the 2011 Fest: VIP wristbands, which give you access to express food and drink lines, three Sky Lounges, VIP areas with free beer, soda and water, and more.
The VIP wristbands ($150 or $200; the extra $50 gets you parking) will no doubt appeal to some high rollers, because no matter how you dress it: Oak Street gets crow-ded for this event.
Meanwhile, this year's poster artist, Monica Kelly, will be signing copies of the fest's poster at the Uptown Whole Foods on Sat. Nov. 19 from noon to 2 p.m. Here's what it looks like (click for larger view):
