
The New Orleans chapter of the American Institute of Architects opens its DesCours show to the public Saturday. The annual expo brings architects from around the country to the city to create installations exploring architectural ideas and materials. Many of the downtown exhibits will be open from 6 p.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, along with art openings on Julia and Magazine Streets. There also are events, including a happy hour with a DJ Wednesday from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the exhibit at 1445 Pauger St. There is a guided tour of installations on Friday, Dec. 9 (departs from the AIA offices at 1000 St. Charles Ave. at 7:30 p.m.).
