#Occupy protestors: "We have a right to be here"

Posted By on Fri, Dec 2, 2011 at 4:30 PM

Charles Maldonado just came from City Hall, where Mayor Mitch Landrieu, NOPD Superintendent Ronal Serpas and other city officials announced they would soon be enforcing closing hours for Duncan Plaza, where members of New Orleans' #Occupy group have been, well, occupying for several weeks.

Landrieu said the enforcement would begin "sometime next week," but urged protestors to begin leaving now. "If they refuse to leave, I will initiate other action," the mayor said.

Outside, two members of the #Occupy camp reacted to the mayor's announcement:

Another reaction under the cut.
