Free screening tonight of Rebel, a work-in-progress documentary

The New Orleans Film Society will present a screening of the work-in-progress documentary Rebel tonight, Friday, Feb. 10, at 7:00 p.m. at Second Line Stages, 800 Richard Street. The film is based on the memoir of Loreta Velasquez, a female Cuban soldier of the American Civil War, and was partly shot in New Orleans. The screening is presented as part of this weekend's "Doing Your Doc" seminar. Director María Agui Carter will be in attendance and a discussion will follow the film. The screening is free and open to the public.
