Elmwood Palace running Oscar movie marathon

Posted By on Fri, Feb 17, 2012 at 2:47 PM

Need a calm, quiet place to recharge before (or after) next week's festivities? The Elmwood Palace 20 in Harahan is showing all nine of this year's Best Picture Oscar nominees in two marathons beginning at 11 a.m. on each of the next two Saturdays. Tomorrow, Feb. 18, you can see War Horse, Moneyball, The Tree of LIfe, and The Descendants, in that order. The lineup on Feb. 25 is Hugo in 3D, The Help, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, The Artist, and Midnight in Paris. Tickets are $30 on Feb. 18 and $40 on Feb. 25. Included with each ticket is a $5 coupon for the concession stand, but we'd recommend bringing some real food for an all-day marathon, not that it's allowed.
