John Lennon New Orleans Jazz songwriting contest

Posted By on Mon, Apr 2, 2012 at 5:48 PM

The John Lennon Songwriting Contest has been around since 1997, and there are categories including jazz, pop, R&B, rock, Latin, electronic music and others. The organization also has other contests, including this year a New Orleans Jazz competition. It's free for Louisiana residents to enter, and the judges are members of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. The winner gets a pile of musical equipment and free entry into the regular contest. (Entry in other categories is normally $30, and the final grand prize is $20,000). The contest is open to professional and amateur musicians and songwriters. Entry rules are here. The entry deadline is April 13. Entries must be submitted via Sonicbids.
