DISCLAIMER: In no way are we trying to invade anyone’s privacy, but it’s fun to hear about the great places celebrities are visiting while they’re hanging out in New Orleans. We’re appreciative of the people who are way more famous than we’ll ever be for visiting our city and state, spending their money, and sometimes even contributing to our rebuilding and recovery efforts.
That being said….
Lady-rocker Pink and her husband Carey Hart were in town Saturday so that Hart (my favorite Real World/Road Rules host!) could participate in the AMA Supercross event in the Superdome. They stayed in town and enjoyed a cocktail or two at the Monteleone Hotel’s Carousel Bar Monday night.
Sylvester Stallone and his wife were seen makin’ groceries at Whole Foods on Magazine this week. Stallone is starring in the action film The Tomb alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jim Caviezel, Vincent D’Onofrio and 50 Cent. The movie revolves around Stallone trying to break out of a maximum security prison that he designed himself. We hope this investment in the city proves more profitable than Stallone and Schwarzenegger opening Planet Hollywood on Decatur Street back in 1994.
Paul Scheer (The League) grabbed some dinner at The Rum House Wednesday night, while in New Orleans filming the faux-horror movie Hell Baby, which also stars Leslie Bibb (GCB) and Thomas Lennon (Reno 911). The movie, from what we gather, is about a couple that moves to New Orleans to have an exorcism performed on their unborn baby.
Lastly, Lil Wayne came home for the weekend to walk his mom Cita down the aisle at her wedding. I can only imagine how awesome the after party was!
As the glorious occasion that is Jazz Fest approaches, keep your eyes peeled for all the well-known visitors who will be shaking it all over the city. Next week promises to be a lengthy post!
