Theresa Andersson debuted the video for the title track to her latest album, Street Parade, which was released in April on Basin Street Records.
The video, directed by Alicia Rose, was shot on location at The Music Box, the Bywater "village" of musical structures made of salvaged materials and constructed by a community of artists, musicians, tinkerers and inventors. In the video, Andersson brings to life the "players" inside the structures. (The Music Box blog has some behind-the-scenes shots from last month's filming.)
It's a fitting scene for the track — Andersson, inspired by the ephemeral street parade as it moves from a grand party to trash, sings those lyrics amid The Music Box's soon-to-be-deconstructed "shantytown." It closes at the end of the month, and the next phase in Dithyrambalina commences: a full-scale musical house.
