Gambit was honored with six first-place awards last night at the 54th annual Press Club of New Orleans journalism awards dinner, which was held at Harrah's New Orleans. Among the winners:
LAYOUT/DESIGN: Britt Benoit, "Ode to Joy"
ENTERTAINMENT - PRINT: Will Coviello, "Zeitgeist at 25"
EDITORIAL - PRINT: Kevin Allman, Clancy DuBos
CRITICAL REVIEW: Ian McNulty, "J'anita's at the Rendon Inn"
COLUMN: Clancy DuBos
AFFILIATED SOCIAL MEDIA: Staff, Gambit
Lauren LaBorde won second place for Feature Affiliated Blog for "Y@ Speak," and Ian McNulty won third place in Feature - Print for "The 21st Century Sno-Ball."
Allman and DuBos also shared the Ashton Phelps Sr. Award for Editorial Writing.
Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to retired Times-Picayune reporter Lynne Jensen and WDSU-TV anchor Norman Robinson.
