Timecode:NOLA kicks off first-ever film fest

Posted By on Wed, Aug 15, 2012 at 5:45 PM

The long-running independent film organization Timecode:NOLA seeks aspiring filmmakers for a part of its first-ever film festival that makes its debut in September.

The "Where Y'at?...(hello)" project gives filmmakers three weeks to write, film and edit a five minute short film, to be set on a New Orleans streetcorner and should "embody the character of their assigned neighborhood." Timecode then will pick 15-20 of those shorts and edit them together — with the assistance of award-winning director Laurie Collyer — into a feature-length film that showcases neighborhoods from across the city.

Filmmakers can sign up for the "Where Y'at?...(hello)" project this Friday, Aug. 17 from 7 p.m. to midnight at Lost Love Lounge (2529 Dauphine St., 949-2009). All participating filmmakers, crew and actors must be present to register — registration is $50 per film.

The final feature will debut at the Timecode:NOLA FF ONE film festival, which kicks off Sept. 28-30.
