In the latest Hollyweird South news (aside from Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds — who totally fell in love while filming Green Lantern here — getting secretly married this weekend), the sexy New Orleans bar/restaurant from Magic Mike star Channing Tatum called Saints and Sinners will open within the first two weeks of October. The restaurant is located on 627 Bourbon St., just "stumbling/staggering distance" (as every media outlet is saying) from Pat O'Brien's for all you French Quarter glug-glugs.
There's scant information about what exactly this place will offer, but here's what we know about Saints and Sinners, a phrase that's never been used before for a New Orleansy thing:
- On Monday's episode of the pinot grigio-soaked Bravo trainwreck Watch What Happens Live, Tatum's wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum talked a little bit about the restaurant. All she said was that it's "burlesque-themed" and that there will be no male strippers involved in an official capacity. The video is below; she starts talking about Saints and Sinners around the :50 mark.
- There's a website and Facebook page up for the restaurant, neither of which provide too much information beyond a slogan — "where the red light is always on!" — and a clue that perhaps old timey naked ladies wrapping themselves in fabrics will be part of the experience. Browsing through the Facebook photos I did find photos of actual food, and I also spotted someone who appears to be our old friend Jemmye Carroll from The Real World: New Orleans!
- Saints and Sinners needs people to work there and hawk its sexy, sumptuous foods. According to the Facebook page, they had a hiring event Monday, but they are still looking for employees — anyone, really: cooks, servers, bartenders, hosts and "security" are among the positions mentioned.
- Tatum's 21 Jump Street co-star Jonah Hill is excited.
My brother @channingtatum is opening up a sick restaurant/bar in New Orleans next month. Follow the bar here: @sandsnola

Will Saints and Sinners be the hotspot for the Hollywood South elite, a haven for shrieking bachelorette parties, or a sad purple-tinted cavern staffed with a lone burlesque dancer and a man outside yelling at you to come in for some Magic Mike-tinis and and a $35 steak 'n' shrimp pile? Feel free to speculate in the comments.
Smoking and smoke free areas? Where? At the Maple Leaf? Tips? The Rivershack? We tried…
Laugh of the day. "Cigarette smoking, like most pleasures, is risky.."
The case for passive smoking risk (second hand smoke) has never been proven, just asserted…
I am skeptical this will pass in any form, and 90% sure it won't go…
It is about time that rights are for the non smokers instead of the smokers…
