New Orleans Pride Festival 2013 event lineup

New Orleans Pride Festival 2013 events range from fun dance parties and karaoke nights to solemn relationship blessings and memorial services. Select events are listed below, in chronological order. Thursday
Upstairs premiere — 8 p.m., Cafe Istanbul Theatre. The dramatic musical about the fire 40 years ago at the Up Stairs Lounge makes its debut.
• All Hands on Deck open turntable night — 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., Ninth Circle and Voodoo Bar.
• Video request night — 9 p.m., Bourbon Pub & Parade.

Friday
• BINGA — 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Michael's on the Park. Princesse Stephaney hosts the event where prizes will be won and where proceeds will benefit gay Mardi Gras krewes.
Love Free or Die screening — 6 p.m., Ashe Cultural Arts Center. The film is a documentary on the first openly gay bishop.
• “True Colors” art exhibit opening reception — 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., UNO St. Claude Gallery. The mixed media exhibit features pieces which communicate the values represented by each color in the Pride flag.
Esoterotica's Queer Hearts Pride benefit and open-mic — 7 p.m., Allways Lounge. To participate in the open-mic session, send a Facebook message (link here will take you to the event page), email info@esoterotica.com or arrive 20 minutes early and ask for Aime' SansSavant.
• Pride kick-off party — 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., Boomtown Casino. With a $20 cover, guests get $20 in casino play, food and the chance to meet the stars of Pride Fest 2013.
• Beer Bust — 7 p.m., Rawhide 2010.
Queerlesque! Pride benefit for Women With a Vision — 9 p.m., AllWays Lounge. Tickets for the "Social Shakedown" are $10 and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to Women With a Vision.
• Dance, Bitches, Dance — 7 p.m., Oz. DJs JRB and Tim Pflueger will provide the soundtrack and the Hot Men of Oz will offer the bar dancing.
• New Meat amateur dance contest — 10 p.m.. The Corner Pocket. The winner of this contest, hosted by Lisa Beaumann, will receive a $100 cash prize.
• All Hands on Deck open turntable night — 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., Ninth Circle and Voodoo Bar.

Saturday
Pride family day — 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Washington Square. There will be over 30 vendors, several food trucks, kids' activities, live music and relationship blessings (3:30 p.m.) at this event.
• 40th anniversary memorial mass for victims of the Up Stairs Lounge blaze — 2 p.m., St. George's Episcopal Church.
• New Orleans Queer Film Festival: Available Men — 3 p.m., Phoenix.
• New Orleans Queer Film Festival: The Big Gay Musical — 5 p.m., Phoenix.
Pride parade — 6 p.m., Washington Square. Women With a Vision is one of the groups marching in the parade.
Kristy Lee, Pat-e & Ryan, Jenna Jordan and GrrlSpot — 7 p.m., One Eyed Jacks. Kristy Lee is returning to New Orleans for the first time in a long time. Tickets to this non-smoking show are $15.
• Krewe of Amon-Ra prom — 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., across from The Friendly Bar. The $20 prom is country-western themed and there will be a photo booth, roasted pork and sides, auctions and a raffle.
• New Orleans Queer Film Festival: The Sons of Tennessee Williams — 7 p.m., Phoenix.
• Pride dance — 7 p.m., Bourbon Pub & Parade. DJ Mike Bryant of Los Angeles will rock the turntables and there will be a $1,000 balloon drop at 1 a.m.
Werk for Good: Kiki and DIY Fashion Show — 9:30 p.m. fashion show, 11 p.m. kiki, Allways Lounge. The sliding scale cover starts at $5 with all proceeds going to BreakOUT, an organization which combats the criminalization of LGBTQ youth in New Orleans.
• Mr. Renegade Bear contest — 10 p.m., Phoenix.

Sunday
• Left Ovah Bitches Show: It’s a Shame — 5 a.m., Ninth Circle. The show stars Kabrina Watson, Jasmine SX, Dusty Debris and Delia St. James.
• Classic video singalong — noon, Bourbon Pub & Parade.
• Pride block party — 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., corner of Bourbon and St. Ann streets.
• New Orleans Queer Film Festival: The Falls — 3 p.m., Phoenix
• Pride trash disco — 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Cafe Lafitte in Exile.
• New Orleans Queer Film Festival: Bear Shorts — 5 p.m., Phoenix.
• Drink & Drown — 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Bourbon Pub & Parade. $10 provides all-you-can-drink well drinks.
• Pride drag show — 6 p.m., Michael's on the Park. Directed by Deja Deja-Vue.
• Pride singalong — 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., upstairs at Good Friends Bar. Charles will be on piano.
• Sunday Funday — 6 p.m., Oz. There will be Drag Dingo with other games and prizes, all hosted by Blanche Debris.
• New Orleans Queer Film Festival: Bear City — 7 p.m., Phoenix.
• Lypstixx drag revue — 8 p.m., Bourbon Pub & Parade.

Monday
• Skylar Fein and Clay Delery lecture and viewing of Up Stairs Lounge fire archives — 3 p.m., Williams Research Center.
• Jazz funeral for fire victims — 4:15 p.m., Williams Research Center.
• Blessing and reading of victims’ names — 4:30 p.m., St. Anna's Episcopal Church.
• Cocktail party — 5 p.m., upstairs at Cafe Lafitte in Exile.
• New Orleans Queer Film Festival: Sagat — 3 p.m., Phoenix.
• New Orleans Queer Film Festival: Someday the Pain Will be Useful to You — 5 p.m., Phoenix.
• Special performance of Upstairs — 8 p.m., Cafe Istanbul Theatre. Proceeds from this performance benefit the LGBTQ community of New Orleans.
• New Orleans Queer Film Festival: Die Mommie Die — 7 p.m., Phoenix.
• Memorial service — 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
• Street side memorial — 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., corner of Iberville and Chartres streets.
