Footage of protests in Turkey filmed by members of the TBC Brass Band (NSFW: Language)

The video above was filmed by Eric Gordon, trumpet player for the To Be Continued Brass Band, from his hotel room window overlooking an Istanbul street less than a quarter-mile from where protestors clashed with police today at Gezi Park (WARNING: video contains nsfw language). TBC is currently on the first half of their summer tour in Europe but had their show canceled tonight due to the protests in the Turkish capital city. Below, TBC trumpet player Sean Michael Roberts also posted a video of a crowd of people with masks over their faces, marching down the street and chanting.

On Facebook, several members of the band reported smelling tear gas and hearing protesters clash in the street with police. The band is currently staying at the Opera Hotel and its proximity to the site of the protests led hundreds of protestors past TBC's hotel room. Eric Gordon said that everyone in the band is OK and safe via Facebook message, but that the band could smell tear gas and it was burning their eyes and mouths.

Turkish citizens have held anti-government protests for several weeks now after plans were revealed to redevelop a public park into a shopping center. Outrage against the planned redevelopment of the park sparked nation-wide protests against Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan.

TBC has five days left in Turkey before they head out to the Netherlands and Spain to complete their summer tour.
