Neutral Milk Hotel unveiled its reunion tour schedule yesterday, including a stop at the newly renovated Civic Theatre, adding to the reopened theater's already-impressive list of incoming acts. The band performs Feb. 20, 2014.
The band, fronted and founded by Louisiana songwriter Jeff Mangum, gained considerable acclaim for the 1998 indie rock opus In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. The band has largely been on hiatus since its release with the band and the reclusive Mangum making only rare, brief appearances.
In January, Mangum performed two sets at One Eyed Jacks, where he played selections from Neutral Milk Hotel's discography to sold-out crowds.
Tickets for the show at the Civic go on sale at noon Friday, Aug. 2 on the theater's website. Tickets are $36 in advance or $39 at the door. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Children of the Blue Sky, an organization benefiting children in Mongolia.
