Free screening of Simón Bolivar biopic at Tulane

The Consulate of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela will hold a free screening of Diary of Bucaramanga -­ Last Days of Simon Bólivar at Tulane's Freeman Auditorium on September 4 at 7 p.m. The film by director Carlos Fung focuses on the last two years of the life of political leader Bólivar, who was also known as "El Libertador." The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director and a Latin American-themed reception with food and music. Diary of Bucaramanga recently won Best First Feature and Best Art Direction at Venezuela’s National Film Festival.
