Swedish retailer H&M (418 N. Peters St., 855-466-7467; www.hm.com) opens in the French Quarter at noon Thursday, Oct. 31. The 32,000-square-foot store features women's, children's, plus-size, sports and men's apparel, lingerie and accessories, as well as its first in-store home department in the U.S.
"It is a significant achievement for H&M to open our first location in a city known for its deep-rooted culture and triumphant spirit," Daniel Kulle, U.S. president for H&M, stated in a press release. "We have long admired this historic destination and are delighted to celebrate our arrival at one of the country's most iconic locations, the French Quarter, during such a festive time of the year."
On opening day, the first 500 shoppers in line will receive an H&M T-shirt and an Access to Fashion pass valued at $10 to $500.
