Bridge House/Grace House (1160 Camp St., 504-522-4476; www.bridgehouse.org) accepts donations of toys, toiletries and clothing. There is a Christmas meal served to people in need from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Christmas day.

The New Orleans Mission (1129 Baronne St.; www.neworleansmission.org)accepts meat and produce, bottled water, toiletries, paper products and retail gift cards.

Second Harvest Food Bank (700 Edwards Ave., Harahan, 504-734-1322; www.no-hunger.org) accepts donations of funds and food. Text “feed” to 80088 to make a $10 donation. People can also buy food through Rouses and Winn-Dixie.
