Fuse TV, which aired the first season of Excuse, but New Orleans' own Queen of Bounce will be back on TV in June.Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce
last year, announced today that a second season is now in production
and the show will return in June:
After a breakout year that boasted a world twerk record, an international tour and a reality series that reached more than four million viewers, New Orleans bounce star and local hero Big Freedia is returning for another season of her unscripted docu-series. Currently in production, Season Two will feature eight half-hour episodes and plenty of the high-energy booty-shaking that kept fans hooked last season. Expect an even more in-depth look into Freedia's transition from Louisiana's underground hip hop scene to the international mainstream stage, all while balancing music projects, personal relationships and her mother's continued battle against cancer.
2013 was a big year for Freedia: a documentary about her life was produced by Pitchfork
, she toured the West Coast with the reunited Postal Service
, and she appeared on the cover of Gambit for the second time
. She also set the Guinness World Record for biggest twerking session in New York City. Late in the year, she teamed up with the Soul Rebels and Gypsyphonic Disko for a bounce remix/remake of Daft Punk's smash "Get Lucky."
