Square Root
—the Minibar-inspired, tasting menu-based restaurant from Root chef Phillip Lopez — has been plagued by opening delays, but that hasn’t stopped the ambitious restaurant from posting a thorough list of dos and don’ts for the forthcoming venture on their website.

While the chef remains mum on many details of his new space, and the opening date has not yet been announced, an exhaustive (and exhausting) Q&A section answers 35 questions posited by no one in particular, considering the restaurant hasn’t even opened its doors.

One painstakingly redundant chain of questions addresses the reservation system:

Can I make a reservation by phone?
No. We only accept reservations online through our website or through opentable.com.

Can I make a reservation by email?

No. We only accept reservations online through our website or through opentable.com.

Why this type of reservation system?

We have chosen to only make reservations available online because of the intimate size and scope of the restaurant. The restaurant has 16 seats so seating is at a premium.

Do you keep a wait list?

No. Please check opentable.com for any changes in reservation availability.

Hear that, future guests of Square Root? Better set up your Open Table account now for any chance at access.

(No word on whether or not you will be asked to leave if you ask one of these questions in person.)
