Per ESPN, two time Pro Bowl player Jimmy Graham's grievance hearing date is set for June 17-18. The basic part of the Graham's grievance is how much money the New Orleans Saints owe him under a franchise tag the team gave the tight end/wide receiver in March.
The Saints franchised Graham as a tight end due around $7 million. However, Graham filed a grievance through the NFL Players Association that he is owed more than $5 million, with an argument that he lined up much more as a wide receiver than as a basic tight end during the 2013 season. To keep things in perspective, the franchise tag for a wide receiver is worth around $12 million in 2014 - so that's where that $5 million number comes from.
July 15: Deadline for the Saints to sign Graham to a multi-year contract or extension. After July 15, Graham can not be signed beyond the Saints' last regular season game.
