Gasa Gasa on Freret St. has quickly become one of the more popular and unique Uptown venues and, to commemorate their one year anniversary, will be holding a the three-day celebration on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Living up to their name — Gasa Gasa comes from the Japanese phrase "to do too much at once" — the venue will be hosting live music, art shows, a local craft marketplace and food and drink specials all weekend long. The weekend will also feature the release of compilation CD featuring a variety of live performances recorded at Gasa Gasa.
There will be performances by Big Freedia, Tank and the Bangas, Brian Hyken and the Wanderlust, the Kid Carsons and more. The Gasa Gasa courtyard will be transformed into a marketplace with various vendors including Jaque's Menswear Clothier, Nana Afia Couture, Crescent City Comics as well as contemporary art pieces for sale by Rex Dingler, Ceaux Young, Les Nash, Jeff Smith and more. Gasa Gasa will also be featuring an extended happy hour and will be serving up barbecue and food from the Rollin Fatties Food Truck and Beacoup Juice Snoballs.
Opened last year by friends Micah Burns, Michael Twillman and Michael Seaman, Gasa Gasa launched as an all-the-above venue and has put itself on the map with its one-of-a-kind projection mapping during music shows and bold artistic projects including a mural by French graffiti artist MTO on its façade. The three-day celebration will commemorate the club's rapid ascent as one of the must-see venues in the city.

Food was great, still some kinks to be worked out though: asked for hard-poached eggs,…

Nice sophisticated but laid-back atmosphere. Bread pudding is pretty spectacular!
