Listen to a new track from Luke Winslow-King; new album due in September

Following his 2013 debut for Bloodshot Records, New Orleans-based singer-songwriter Luke Winslow-King returns with Everlasting Arms, his fourth-ever full-length. The title track is Winslow-King's rendition of "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms," a hymn that's been performed by George Jones and Mahalia Jackson. Winslow-King brings a warm, bluesy Americana to the traditional, with Esther Rose adding a bright harmony. Stream the track at Brooklyn Vegan via Bloodshot Records.

Everlasting Arms — which combines Delta blues, folk, jazz and a bit of punk rock — is due out Sept. 30. Watch a full performance from Seattle's KEXP below:
