The Bombay Club is upgrading to a larger space September 1. The martini bar and jazz club will trade in its current location for a hotel space at Chateau LeMoyne in the French Quarter a few blocks away, which previously only offered bar service at night and a breakfast program.
"The new space is amazing, and we're renovating it to have the same feel that the club has now," said Andrew Gross of Bombay Club. "We're building a whole new entrance off of Dauphine [Street] and working closely with the Chateau LeMoyne to coordinate with their needs."
While the move is only a few blocks, the opportunities abound for expanding the Bombay Club's services and reach.
"They have an amazing wedding and banquet space, as well as a courtyard that's gorgeous, but for so long people would have their wedding at the hotel and go somewhere else for a reception. We're hoping we'll be able to entice them to stay," said Gross.
The Bombay Club will be closing the last week of August to prepare for the move.
"We're going to be carrying over what we're doing currently — basically picking it up and dropping it down," said Gross. "Bombay is known as a martini and jazz bar, but we're going to be making our cocktail menu a little fresher. Our chef is excited because the broom closet at the new space is bigger than the entire kitchen facility we have at the old space."
The fate of Bombay Club's old space is still up in the air. For more information, follow along on Bombay Club's website.
