The fine dining CBD restaurant Le Foret
will serve lunch on Thursdays and Fridays starting Sept. 4. The lunch menu features dishes including fried truffle macaroni and cheese, crabmeat cheesecake with Abita barbecue sauce, pulled pork belly sliders, Parmesan-crusted oyster salad, rabbit cassoulet and more. There will be a prix fixe two-course meal offered for $27. During September lunches, the prix fixe special is half off and includes dessert.
The wine bar/shop W.I.N.O.
hosts a pop-up Thursday. Blue Oak BBQ
will serve pork sliders with sesame ginger slaw. Blue Oak occupies the kitchen space at Chickie Wah Wah and serves barbecued pork, brisket, chicken, smoked wings, St. Louis spare ribs, smoked burgers and more. Blue Oak serves dinner Monday through Saturday and is open during New Orleans Saints and LSU football games.
The Louisiana Restaurant Association sponsors We Live to Eat Restaurant Week
Sept. 8-14. There's a preview event 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, at The Chicory. Admission is $25 and includes samples of dishes that will be offered during restaurant week plus beer by NOLA Brewing and Stella Artois and wine.
