Hassan Khaleghi, owner of The Flaming Torch, died.
Khaleghi opened the restaurant with his wife, Zohreh, a decade ago, in a building on Magazine Street formerly occupied by a German bakery. The Flaming Torch became known for twists on classic French bistro fare from coq au vin to escargot with sauce pistou.
Prior to operating the restaurant, Khaleghi spent years running hotels and smaller dining establishments before opening his own space.
The restaurant will remain closed until Thursday, but will reopen Friday with regular hours.
