Le Diner en Blanc
, the international popup where guests donned in white dine en masse on meals they pack themselves, returns to New Orleans on May 9.
The picnic, the location of which is kept top secret until the evening of the event, is now in its third year in New Orleans. After paying a $45 admission fee, guests are granted chartered transportation from select pickup spots to and from the event, as well as entrance to the party.
Those who attend the event are asked to dress all in white and are expected to provide all of their dining accoutrement, including food, tables, chairs, glasses, cutlery and white linen. At the end of the night, patrons are asked to clean and pack up their belongings, "leaving no sign of their elegant revelry left behind," according to the event's producer.
The event features music and dancing, including entertainment featuring the Brass-A-Holics
, violin and guitar street performers Tanya and Dorise
and other “surprises."
Those interested in registering for the event should visit the website
or call (504) 304-8198. Registration for the event ends on May 4.
