The Sampsons have begun considering spaces to house the second incarnation of Indywood, with an eye toward a larger venue that will accommodate not only growing audiences for non-mainstream films but also outside rentals for special events. "We're looking at spaces that will be an even better fit for us," Hayley Sampson said.
In the meantime, Indywood has launched a new series of outdoor Bike-In Movies shown on an inflatable screen. The first screening has been dubbed "The Bark-In" because it features the recent film White God — which has 280 canine actors — and will take place at The Bark Market, 3041 N Rampart St. on Friday, June 26 at 8:30 p.m (doors at 7:30 p.m.). Dogs and their owners are invited ("please bring only friendly, healthy dogs without fleas!" says the invite). Tickets are $7 including a folding chair or $5 if you bring your own blanket or chair, and can be purchased here. Read our review of the extraordinary White God here.
