Shotgun Cinema has announced the lineup for its second annual True Orleans Film Festival, which takes place Sept. 9-11 at The Broad Theater (636 N. Broad Street). The festival celebrates non-fiction storytelling in films, podcasts and other forms. Nine films and two panel discussions will be presented. Highlights include the local premiere of Kate Plays Christine, director Robert Greene's groundbreaking film about Christine Chubbuck, a Florida newscaster who committed suicide on-air in 1974; and a restored version of Win Wenders' classic documentary Buena Vista Social Club. Tickets for individual films are $10 and a festival pass is $70. Panels are free and open to the public. More information including the full schedule is available here.
