WINE OF THE WEEK  BY SARA ROAHEN

Cotes du Ventoux Rose 2000
$6.29

No fear: This is not the White Zinfandel your less sophisticated relatives tap from a box. This is a pleasantly dry French rose made in the Rhone Valley by the highly respected Perrin brothers, who use half Grenache and half Cinsault grapes. Still, it is pink, and it does taste like sugar-coated raspberries. La Vielle Ferme will sip like a lady with shrimp canapes, and it will guzzle like a wine cooler with chips and salsa. Have fun. Found at Dorignac’s, Prytania Liquor, Martin Wine Cellar, some Sav-A-Center locations and Whole Foods.
