Ficklin Vineyards
Tinta Port NV
$15 The label should warn not to drink this stuff on an empty stomach. Sweet, potent and made in the classic Portuguese tradition of halting fermentation with a few good shots of brandy, this California Port has the mouth-feel of a red wine and slides down with frightening ease. It makes a stellar aperitif with cheese and crackers, however, a perfect dessert alternative or a lovely way to warm a wintry afternoon. Found at Antonio's Wine Cellar, Dorignac's and selected Albertson's locations. -- Roahen
