Local actors, celebrities and musicians such as Sean Patterson, Ricky Graham, Michael Bennett, Gavin Mahlie, Harry Mayronne Jr. and Becky Allen read works by American poets such as Lewis Carroll, Maya Angelou and Dorothy Parker. This collective of musicians, writers, artists and filmmakers from Chapel Hill, N.C., presents a "road show" of various independently spirited works. Includes music from the band Twilighter. CONCERT ON THE LAWN. Chalmette Battlefield, 8606 W. St. Bernard Highway, Chalmette, 281-0510. Navy Band of New Orleans, the Abramson High School Concert Band and area choirs perform the music of 1815 in honor of the Battle of New Orleans. Free admission, picnics allowed. 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
