Piper-Sonoma NV
Blanc de Noir
$15-$20Made from Pinot Noir grapes, this Champagne-style sparkling wine flickers with the gray-gold hue of a waning winter afternoon. With fruit pie aroma, crisp sour apple flavor and a creamy finish, it's like a pretty string of pearls: showy enough for a ball gown and a classic match for business suits. A safe bet for poached fish and seafood chowders, it also drinks surprisingly well with maple-flavored desserts. Found at Dorignac's, Langenstein's, Prytania Liquors and selected Sav-A-Center locations. -- Roahen
