2000 David Bruce Pinot Noir
Central Coast
$18-$22
A classic California warm-weather Pinot Noir that uses the cooling Pacific breezes along the rocky coast to good advantage, this David Bruce is produced from grapes grown in nine distinct vineyards, including Monterrey, San Benito and Edna Valley. A very drinkable young wine, the red berry fruit and hints of spice and cedar in the nose make for some pleasant swirling and sniffing. On the palate, you're rewarded with evenly ripened fruit, deep cherry flavors, and a little toast (from the American, French and Hungarian oak-barrel aging) and jam. Serve with grilled tuna, roast pork or chicken. Available at Dorignac's, Cellars of River Ridge, The Wine Seller, Robert's Fresh Market #2, Hugh's Wine Cellar.
