Corrections

Our list of candidates for Orleans Parish district attorney ("Scuttlebutt," July 2) omitted attorney C. Gary Wainwright. Also, we erroneously stated that Sidney Cates III is running for a seat on the state Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal. His son, former New Orleans Civil Service Commission chair Sidney Cates IV, is seeking the appellate court seat. The elder Cates, 71, who retired as the first black deputy police chief of the NOPD to serve as executive director of the Housing Authority of New Orleans and who later retired from the state Attorney General's office, is helping his son's campaign. Finally, last week's "Hot Seven" photograph of fireworks over New Orleans was taken by David Harvey, whose work can be seen at www.harveystudio.com. Gambit Weekly regrets the errors.
