The Marlborough region on the northeastern tip of the South Island reigns as New Zealand's most planted wine area. Characterized by long, sunny days, cool nights, and a dry fall season providing lengthy hang-time and full ripening, the region yields superb Sauvignon Blancs and Pinot Noirs such as this one. Intense aromas of wild, ripe cherries, strawberries and a touch of vanilla are underscored with layers of complex fruit, supple tannins, balanced acidity and a suggestion of sweetness on the finish.
