Created by Arthur Mintz and Steve Zissis, starring Mark Krasnoff, Ryan Reinike, Jesse Meriwether, Raphaelle, Kim Collins, Oskie Creech and C. Caine Lee. Tickets $20. ANYTHING GOES. Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre, 616 St. Peter St., 522-9958. Classic Broadway musical comedy by Cole Porter set aboard a cruise ship with adventures of passengers that include a female nightclub singer and a group of British and American aristocrats. Derek Franklin and Sonny Borey direct Karen Hebert, Jimmy Murphy and others. Tickets $26 adults, $16 students. Performances 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday, through Sept. 29. THE BLACK AND WHITE BLUES. Le Chat Noir, 715 St. Charles Ave., 581-5812. Musical comedy documenting the cuisine culture of New Orleans, told from the viewpoint of waiters and waitresses. Writer Ricky Graham directs Russell Hodgkinson, Jorindas Junius and others. Tickets $23, Mondays $18.50. Performances 7:30 p.m. Monday, 8 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, through Sept. 28.

CRAZY FOR YOU. Rivertown Repertory Theatre, 325 Minor St., Kenner, 468-7221. Classic musical with score composed by George Gershwin with story of 1930s socialite and ladies' man Bobby Child striving to reach goal of becoming a dancer, against the wishes of his mom and wife. Alton Geno directs Gary Rucker, Kelly Hirling Fouchi and Lorin Moore. Tickets $22 adults, $20 seniors and students, and $12 children ages 6-12; pre-performance buffet catered by Messina's $16. DEAR HEARTS AND GENTLE PEOPLE. Le Chat Noir, 715 St. Charles Ave., 581-5812. Cabaret performance with Phil Melancon singing Perry Como's hits, including "Catch a Falling Star," "Sing for Me" and "Round and Round." THE MERCHANT OF VENICE. City Park, Popp Memorial, 595-8899. Dog & Pony Theatre Company staging of Shakespeare's complex comedy set in Venice, Italy, about a money lender seeking payment in the form of a pound of flesh. John Grimsley directs Martin Covert, Scott M. Jefferson, Diana Shortes and Ann Casey. Tickets $10, cash only at the door. Performances 8 p.m. Friday-Sunday, though Sept. 29.

NO NIGGERS, NO JEWS, NO DOGS. Anthony Bean Community Theatre, 1333 S. Carrollton Ave., 862-PLAY (7529). Southern premiere of John Henry Redwood's drama of the Cheeks, an African-American family living in North Carolina in 1949. Anthony Bean directs Oliver Thomas, Gwendolyne Foxworth and others. ROMEO AND JULIET. W Hotel, Bacco courtyard, 316 Chartres St., 522-2426. Hotel's courtyard holds new twists on Shakespeare classic performed with colonial Mexican wardrobes and interactive performance that moves the audience around the property. Directed and performed by the Mikko Presents theater troupe. Tickets $15, includes hors d'oeuvres from Bacco, or $30 for hors d'oeuvres plus two-course meal and glass of wine. Performances 7 p.m. Monday.

SPINNING INTO BUTTER. Southern Rep Theatre, Shops at Canal Place, third floor, 522-6545. Louisiana premiere of Rebecca Gilman's critically acclaimed work dealing with race relations and political correctness at a liberal arts college. Lisa Jo Epstein directs Lara Grice, Gavin Mahlie, Shelley Poncy, Randy Cheramie, Jerry Lee Leighton, Michael Salinas and Kalon Thibodeaux.
