Roberts Batson's solo performance that brings to life the history and characters that helped shape the story of New Orleans based on his Scandal Tours. Tickets $20. COLD READ. Le Chat Noir, 715 St. Charles Ave., 581-5812. Theater for Writers series continues with The Career Planner, a one-act play by Dan Godoy about a Marine leaving the service with an honorable discharge. Free admission, one-drink minimum. Wednesday at 6 p.m.

COME BACK TO THE FIVE & DIME, JIMMY DEAN, JIMMY DEAN. Loyola University, Lower Depths Theatre, 865-3840. Group of childhood friends known as the "Disciples of James Dean" reunites on the 20th anniversary of his death in a small Texas town, revealing much about themselves while recounting the past. GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS. University of New Orleans, Thurst Theatre, 280-SHOW (7469). David Mamet's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama about human nature displayed in a cutthroat sales competition.
