SECRETARY (R) -- B+ Director Steven Shainberg has done the unthinkable: craft a witty, surprisingly sincere love story out of a sado-masochistic relationship between a dysfunctional young woman (Maggie Gyllenhaal) and her attorney boss (James Spader).
