TURKEY DAY RACE. City Park, Tad Gormley Stadium, 887-8900. This 95th annual race presented by New Orleans Athletic Club with one-mile "fun" run/walk for humans and dogs and five-mile race. Proceeds benefit Spina Bifida Association, Southern Animal Foundation Fire Recovery Fund and the NOAC Scholarship Fund. Registration $20. Check-in 8:15 a.m., races 9 a.m.

Presented by New Orleans Multicultural Tourism Network, a series of seminars and expo designed to showcase ways to plan a family reunion in New Orleans, as well as what resources exist to do. Annual holiday event with a light show throughout City Park, cultural exhibits, live entertainment, arts and crafts, food, children's attractions and more. Eighteenth annual brunch sponsored by the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus (LLBC), featuring food, drinks and live performance by jazz violinist Michael Ward to benefit the LLBC's scholarship fund. TOM MCDERMOTT. French Quarter Visitors Center, 916 N. Peters St., 589-4841. Pianist Tom McDermott leads a quartet in a program of music from New Orleans during the Storyville era of ragtime, parlor jazz and popular songs. Free admission. 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

PAT'S HIP HAPPENING. Mermaid Lounge, 1100 Constance St., 524-4747. Music and art event to benefit Mermaid Lounge manager/bartender Patrick Cronin, who broke a hip in a bicycle accident. Live music by the New Orleans Klezmer All-Stars, the Geraniums, Fore Day Creep, Rotary Downs, Hazard County Girls and Dave Pirner, as well as food, drinks, and an auction of artwork and memorabilia led by Shawn Hall. CANDLES FOR PEACE. City Park, Pavilion of the Two Sisters, 454-1981. Annual Christmas brunch and fundraiser for the Colombian Volunteers of New Orleans, a nonprofit group that sends medical supplies to Colombia, with live music, raffles, door prizes and auction. Tickets $25 adults in advance, $35 at the door, $12 children ages five to 12. 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

ART AUCTION AND ODDITIES BAZAAR. Cafe Brasil, 2100 Chartres St., 949-0851. Fundraiser featuring live music with Jai Alai, a white-elephant table and a live and silent art auction for Recycle for the Arts, a nonprofit, volunteer-run group that provides free and low-cost art materials to the community.
