The cozy West African spot that spent years in Mid-City finally reopened
inside the former Midnight Express location in the French Quarter over the holiday
season. Bennachin's menu offers a wide variety of veggie-friendly fare including
the black-eyed pea stew with sauteed tomato, ginger and garlic sauce, which is
served with coconut rice and fried ripe plantains. No reservations. Lunch Monday
through Friday, dinner Monday through Saturday. Credit cards. $
