Try Gourmet versions of a wide range of noodles, including the Ja-Jing

DOFON'S NOODLE HOUSE

The former Chinese's Chinese's new name reflects some new directions
of the kitchen, including an emphasis on their soups, with the beef noodle
pho a specialty. However, many of the staples that combine the tastes of
Vietnam and China remain, such as entrees rich in seafood like the black
pepper shrimp, and choices of tilapia or filet mignon. Hot soups, crab Rangoon
and spring rolls are favorite ways to begin the meal. Reservations accepted.

The bustling Five Happiness offers popular Chinese favorites such as General

KUNG'S DYNASTY

Perhaps the only place Uptown to serve Fried Flaming Ice Cream, Kung's
is a hub for all varieties of Chinese cooking. Imperial Beef is stir-fried
in orange sauce to achieve a crispy, caramelized exterior. Honey Pecan Shrimp

MR. TAI'S

Mr. Tai's has a reputation for upscale Chinese food and an innovative menu.
The restaurant takes full advantage of local seafood with dishes like the stir-fried
oysters in black bean sauce and the Hunan prawns, which are deep fried, then
tossed in a wok with fresh garlic, onion, ginger and sweet-and-sour sauce.
Landlubbers can try the Hunan beef: fried strips of steak flavored with a sauce
of wine, sugar, hot chiles and orange zest. Finish off the meal with fried

P.F CHANG'S CHINA BISTRO

This savory bistro is the inspiration of fancier Chinese
cuisine, and can be found across the country. Mongolian Trio,
a spin-off of Mongolian Beef is a specialty, comes with beef,
shrimp, chicken, broccoli, white mushrooms, and green onions
in a mild dark sauce. A selection of 60 wines by the glass
and a list of reserves make this dining experience complete.

up in unlikely places. Try, for example, the stir-fried alligator with mushrooms

Chicken breast, sauteed in a spicy Szechuan sauce with straw mushrooms, bamboo
shoots, roasted peanuts and onions in a light oyster sauce. Reservations recommended
